Seventeen chapters on natural magic are followed by journal entry pages with magical prompts, seasonal reminders, and nature-based meditations written in the style of self-talk.
"As I pick up this book for the first time, I recognize that I am more than a curious reader. I am an involved participant who will complete this journal in my own unique style....In the year ahead, I will keep my eyes open and my attention focused on the beauty and mystery around me. How do I fit in the grand scheme of things? I will observe and celebrate the dates of the four season which mark major changes in the cycle of all life and note how these changes affect me. This is my magical year."
Readers learn how to evaluate their spiritual/magical progress; rituals for celebrating and honoring the cycles of the year; how to read the language of nature through gardening, stones, animals, and feathers; how to use the zodiac, color, music, candles, and incense for empowerment; how to understand and use the forces of earth, air, fire, and water; how to develop the power of the masculine and the feminine within; how to make ritual art, masks, and costumes; protection, centering, and grounding; how to develop safe relationships with guides and guardians; and responsibility for magical intent--its influence on self and others.
This special book will enable readers to work magic with confidence and power. The daily journaling pages, when completed, become a personal book of shadows.
This hardcover book has a moon and stars design stamped in silver foil on a midnight blue clothstock. The dust jacket is two-thirds the height of the book, allowing the top one-third of the cloth cover to show. The dust jacket design is incorporated into this exposed cloth cover. A unique treatment, it also shows consumers that the book is attractive on its own, without the dust jacket.
