Recently I've been reading books about Oregon History. I read this one expecting from the title that it would be a bit boring. Instead it was a rip-snorting adventure tale, written in 1849 by a man who helped found Astoria! It lags a little at the end, probably because being true the author couldn't tag on a big climax, instead he settles down in the fur trapping business. I loaned it to two friends who also both loved it.
