Staff Pick
Alters is a superhero tale with a twist that thoroughly complicates the whole alter-ego situation. Our gorgeous and super-strong protagonist is a trans woman who has yet to come out, except when she puts on the costume that allows her to be most herself. It's a high-octane, wam-bam story even as some strong social allegories churn in the background, and it's all fun from page one. Recommended By Cosima C., Powells.com
