Synopsis
Excerpt from Armstrong Circle a Cork Brick: For Flooring Cow Stalls, Calf and Bull Pens, Horse Stalls, Sheep Pens, Piggeries, Kennels, Etc
The man who has spent time, money and effort in getting together a good herd of dairy cows cannot afford to take any chances with their health, safety or productiveness for the sake of a few dollars saved in the first cost of stall floors. Cold, hard, damp floors are one of the most common causes of garget, rheumatism, bad knees, sore hoofs, etc., while slippery floors frequently cause falls which result in abortion, or permanent injury, or both. Is it worth while from a purely business standpoint to run such risks? Would it not be much safer and cheaper to spend a little more at the start and get a stall floor that will practically insure the welfare and safety of your herd?
