Racecar driver Kate Reilly is suited up and ready for the start of the legendary 24 Hours of Daytona. But whats ahead will test her will and nerve more than any other endurance race….
Even before the green flag waves over Daytona International Speedway comes word that Kates boyfriend Stuart is fighting for his life after a hit-and-run earlier in the day. Still reeling from that news, Kate must absorb other shocks in the races opening hours, including an on-track accident with tragic consequences and an eyewitness who claims Stuart was run down deliberately.
Convinced the reason for Stuarts attack can be found in the race paddock, Kate and her best friend Holly join forces with an investigative reporter to find out whos after Stuart and why. Alternating stints behind the wheel of her Corvette racecar with stretches of quizzing colleagues and searching for clues, Kate taps every possible source—friend, foe, and family—to help her unmask Stuarts attacker.
As the race clock counts down to zero hour, Kate must confront her own deeply held fears about life, death, love, and trust before she can sort the truth from the lies around her. Only then can she identify whos willing to kill to keep a secret buried—and stop them before they lash out again.

Booklist review of
Pru Marlowe Pet Noir
"Prus struggles to deal with her abilities make this stand out among other animal mysteries, and the sad story of Floyd, the heart-broken Persian, will touch the heart of cat lovers everywhere. Recommend this series to fans of Blaize Clement and Rita May Brown (especially those who have grown weary of the Mrs. Murphy novels). Watch this series closely. It could well sprint to the top of the animal-cozy genre." —Booklist, starred review "Simon excels in creating unique and believable animal characters as well as diverse and memorable humans, and this sequel is just as good as Dogs Dont Lie (2011)." —Booklist, starred review

"Kaehlers clear explanations of technical jargon make the racing world come alive. An engaging debut; I cant wait to see where Kate and the crew go next." --
Library Journal for
Dead Man's Switch
"Even those unfamiliar with this world will appreciate Kaehler's vivid descriptions of the intricate teamwork involved in racing, the amazing equipment, the split-second decision making required of the driver, and the pulse-pounding race itself." --Publishers Weekly for Dead Man's Switch
"With Braking Points, Tammy Kaehler once again delivers a breathless joyride. Kaehler conjures enough unexpected twists and blind turns in this dynamite series entry to satisfy even the most demanding reader—or race car driver. And could there be a more engaging protagonist than Kate Reilly? Smart, funny, flawed, shed won me over long before the first checkered flag came down. Read this book—but buckle in first. Believe me, youre in for a bumpy ride."--William Kent Krueger, New York Times Bestselling Author of the Cork O'Conner Series for Braking Points
Synopsis
When Pru Marlowe takes a dog for a walk, she doesnt expect to find a body. But Spot, a service dog in training, has too good a nose not to lead her to the remains of the beautiful young woman, and despite her own best instincts, Pru cant avoid getting involved. The young woman seems to have been mauled by a wild cat - and Pru knows there have been no pumas in the Berkshire woods for years. And while Wallis, Pru's curmudgeonly tabby, seems fixated on the idea of a killer cat, Spot has been sending strange signals to Prus own heightened senses, suggesting that the violent death was something more than a tragic accident. As motives multiply, a cougar of a different sort sets her eyes on Prus sometime lover, and another woman disappears. With panther panic growing, Pru may have to put aside her own issues - and her own ideas of domesticity - to solve a savage mystery.
