Synopses & Reviews
Synopsis
This monograph gives a complete update on breast cancer, an update that has been sorely lacking in the literature for over a decade. Part I deals with pathology, diagnosis, and other aspects. The excellent chapter on pathology features numerous photographs. The chapter on the psychological impact of breast cancer is also unique. Part II discusses all modern treatment procedures. These include not only the conservative and radical aspects of surgery, but also limited surgery. Frontline radiotherapy is presented in detail as well as the technical aspects of radiotherapy of the breast. Chemotherapy and hormone therapy are described as adjuvant therapy or as primary therapy for advanced breast cancer. This up-to-date volume should be on the bookshelf of every oncologist and radiotherapist.

Current Treatment of Cancer discusses all the equipment and methods now in use in cancer therapy. It covers all types of cancer, thus providing the reader with comprehensive infor- mation on cancer management. In recent decades there has been a tremendous improve- ment in the treatment of cancer, and there is hope for even fur- ther success in this fight. We are convinced that this series will help us to make a concerted response to the challenge of can- cer.
