Kelsey Ford: 10 Books That Celebrate Women’s Rights and Women’s Wrongs (0 comment)
Sure, women’s rights have come a long way over the last century, but for every step forward, it feels like we take a few back, and when that feeling is so consistent, so insidious? Man, it makes me want to support women’s wrongs. On this list, you’ll find books about women’s rights — Gloria Steinem, Barbara Ehrenreich, Mary Beard...

Publisher Comments

Eagerly anticipated by her legions of fans, this sixth novel in Diana Gabaldon's bestselling Outlander saga is a masterpiece of historical fiction from one of the most popular authors of our time.

Since the initial publication of Outlander fifteen years ago, Diana Gabaldons New York Times bestselling saga has won the hearts of readers the world over and sold more than twelve million books. Now, A Breath of Snow and Ashes continues the extraordinary story of 18th-century Scotsman Jamie Fraser and his 20th-century wife, Claire.

The year is 1772, and on the eve of the American Revolution, the long fuse of rebellion has already been lit. Men lie dead in the streets of Boston, and in the backwoods of North Carolina, isolated cabins burn in the forest.

With chaos brewing, the governor calls upon Jamie Fraser to unite the back-country and safeguard the colony for King and Crown. But from his wife Jamie knows that three years hence the shot heard round the world will be fired, and the result will be independence with those loyal to the King either dead or in exile. And there is also the matter of a tiny clipping from The Wilmington Gazette, dated 1776, which reports Jamie's death, along with his kin. For once, he hopes, his time-traveling family may be wrong about the future.

Review

One of those "I don't want to put it down" books that sucks you in and has you staying up hours past bedtime to finish 1 more chapter... This is book 6 of the Outlander series, non-traditional historical fiction. Diana is a wonderful and unique writing talent that keeps you coming back for more!

Travel Adventure Passion - these are all here... and come to think of it there, too, because it involves a woman who has accidently travelled thru the rocks of time and lives in history... only she adds her perspective to the action. Passionately and deeply descriptive in the various movements of characters, as well as switching at times from one's view to another's, this book gives a gift of perspective. Sit back with a hot cut of tea and feel lucky you have it! Travel through a history of Europe and America and thrill to be passionately embraced and learn a lot about survival! Love this book!!!
