Are you a person who likes to give books for holidays? Here's a suggestion if you're looking for a book to add to a child's Easter basket. Bunster, an Easter Story is a sturdy board book that is just the right size for small hands to hold, and the illustrations are outstanding! Little eyes will be immediately drawn to the bright colors, and the pictures perfectly capture the moments when rabbits, ducks, hedgehogs, and a little girl all join together for a fun celebration.
Bunster, an Easter Story is very entertaining, but it can also be educational, and I can see parents reading it, pointing to the pictures, and then having their little ones repeat the names. There's also the theme that friends come in all shapes and sizes, and we don't have to be exactly alike to enjoy friendship with one another. I do, however, have two suggestions for author and illustrator Christine Hwang Panzer. Some of the words in her text are too advanced for her target audience, and children learning to read might not recognize the beautiful cursive text that is used in this story. I offer this as constructive advice, because I do consider this debut book as an enjoyable book for children!
I received a copy of this book from the author via iRead Book Tours. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.
