Like the Schusterman’s Unwind, Cast me not away builds on society’s neglect for the weak, and willingness to devalue human life, hiding atrocity behind nice words. The abortion debate plays its part, as does faith, but neither are allowed to overwhelm the story. Drawing readers in with intriguing quotes from many sources and a plot that blends excitement, action and suspense with thought provoking situations, the author has created a scary fast-moving story that’s well worth the read.
