Esther Yi: The Writers That Haunt Me: Esther Yi’s Bookshelf for 'Y/N' (0 comment)
I’m haunted by a handful of writers all long dead. They set the standard; naturally I fail. Anything I read of theirs promptly enters my bloodstream, whereupon mysterious internal fomentation proceeds. Y/N is simply the latest extrusion, a concerted one...

As the newly appointed Chalice, Mirasol is the most important member of the Masteras Circle. It is her duty to bind the Circle, the land and its people together with their new Master. But the new Master of Willowlands is a Priest of Fire, only drawn back into the human world by the sudden death of his brother. No one knows if it is even possible for him to live amongst his people. Mirasol wants the Master to have his chance, but her only training is as a beekeeper. How can she help settle their demesne during these troubled times and bind it to a Priest of Fire, the touch of whose hand can burn human flesh to the bone?

Robin McKinley weaves a captivating tale that reveals the healing power of duty and honor, love and honey.

This book was beautiful beginning to end. The themes of searching for healing for and through nature are timely without being preachy. Beyond that, there is something so personal and wonderful about this book, by the time I finished I felt as if I had gone through the journey with the main character. The only thing that disappointed me about this book was how short it was because I wanted to spend more time in the world and with the characters Robin Mckinley created. And in terms of disappointment, I can live with that. I look forward to revising this many, many times.
