Synopsis
Excerpt from Columbia River Basin Fish and Wildlife Program Salmon Recovery: Hearing Before a Subcommittee of the Committee on Appropriations United States Senate One Hundred Fourth Congress First Session
Today the Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, the Appropriations Committee, will receive testimony from a variety of witnesses on issues relating to the Bonneville Power Administra tion and Columbia River basin.
The importance of these interrelated topics to the Pacific North west cannot be overstated, and, therefore, I have invited all my Senate colleagues from the region and Alaska to participate in to day' S proceedings.
The Columbia River is the stuff from which legends are made. The story of the Columbia is the story of the Pacific Northwest.
