Synopsis
Excerpt from Correspondence of Lady Burghersh Countess With the Duke of Wellington
There are great gaps in the correspondence, as many letters were destroyed or lost - and these few seem to have been preserved by Lady Westmorland chiefly as records of his constant kindness and affection for her.
It is hoped that readers and critics will recognise and appreciate the object with which these private letters are now laid before them.
