About the Author
CAROL HAYDEN is Professor in Applied Social Research at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, University of Portsmouth, UK. She previously worked as a secondary school teacher for ten years and as a researcher in the SSRIU (Social Services Research and Information Unit).
DENISE MARTIN is Senior Lecturer in Criminology in the School of Applied Social Science, University of Brighton, UK. She previously worked with organizations including the police and Children's society.
