This new book by Patricia Bradley is enjoyable on so many levels! The mystery and suspense are top-notch, there is a heartwarming romance, and the characters are people that I could hang out with. Oh, there are a few that made me cringe but most of them are decent, law-abiding citizens and in fact, some of them ARE the law! Deadly Revenge is the third book in the Pearl River series and it's the perfect way to wrap up the series. Detective Jenna Hart returns home to Pearl River, Tennessee after a harrowing work incident in Chattanooga but it doesn't appear to be the peaceful homecoming she would like. Is she being targeted by an enemy or is PTSD causing her to imagine that someone is entering her house...over and over again? Deadly Revenge is a thrilling story with second chances, friends-to-more romance, and two cases that may be connected! The central focus is on Jenna and TBI agent Max Anderson but many of the characters from the first two books are featured also. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, the tension was non-ending, and I loved the strong element of faith subtly woven throughout the story. Bradley once again gives suspense fans a story that they won't want to miss! I received a copy from the author, publisher, and NetGalley. There was no obligation for a positive review.

Romantic suspense doesn’t get any better than this book with its second chance at love trope and danger running rampant in the small town of Pearl Springs. When Jenna Hart left Chattanooga under a cloud of suspicion, she found a new place and a new job as a deputy in Pearl Springs, back home where her roots are. But when local men are murdered, her refuge isn’t safe anymore. TBI agent Max Anderson comes to town to protect a Senate candidate and finds out that the threats against him are real, but all is not as it seems. The deceit is in layers in this book and unravels carefully and enticingly. There is a subplot about Jenna’s being endangered by her past and the two plots are woven together seamlessly. I really enjoyed the dynamics between the main characters and the realistic dialogue with the secondary characters. I especially liked the mystery that was gripping and the tension that escalated as danger got closer to Jenna and Max. The story is expertly crafted and addictive.. The author teasingly reveals the details slowly and in a perfect way to keep me engrossed in the plot and the lives of the characters. Perfectly paced and with realistic and unique characters, this book is one not to miss that captivated me as I pieced together the clues right along with the characters. I always look forward to a new release from Patricia Bradley. Deadly Revenge did not disappoint. This book has us back in Pearl River, Tennessee under the jurisdiction of Chief Deputy Alex Stone. Former Chattanooga detective Jenna Hart is now serving on the Pearl River force, returning to her hometown, leaving a difficult work environment behind. Now it appears someone may be entering her home when she is away, leaving no tangible evidence behind. TBI Agent Max Anderson is in Pearl River investigating threats against a political candidate scheduled to speak in the small town. Jenna and Max have a past; readers will have to read to see if they have a future as they work together to determine who may be a threat to Jenna and who is a threat to the candidate. Patricia Bradley has a well-paced writing style, not only revealing information at just the right time, but also never rushing an ending, something that is very important to me. Officer Jenna Hart returns to her hometown for a change of pace after being injured in a drug incident gone wrong in Chattanooga. But things in the sleepy town of Pearl Springs turn sinister when people die in mysterious circumstances. TBI agent, Max Anderson, was Jenna’s boss in Chattanooga. Max is in town to set up security for a notable politician, and shows up at a crime scene surprising Jenna. While helping each other seek out clues, they wonder what might have been in their past relationship. This was a complicated, whodunit plot that kept me guessing. And the psychological games that the bad guy was playing with, Jenna had me on pins and needles. The romance was slow, but showed how Jenna and Max were learning to rely on each other. There was a solid faith thread that focused on the clear difference between right and wrong, looking to God for guidance and acknowledging that He is in control. Evil always prefers darkness to light. The author does a fantastic job of weaving two different stories together. Shunned after being shot in Chattanooga, Detective Jenna Hart moved back to Pearl River where her home is. The case involving that shooting was never really completely solved. Is it possible that it followed her to her hometown? Or why is she being followed, her house broken into and other questionable things happening? Pearl River is hosting the rally for former mayor Harrison Carter, who is hoping to be elected to the senate. Threats have Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agent Max Anderson in town to help with security. However, former councilmen seem to be dying - accidentally? Alexis Stone, Chief Deputy, does not think these are random. Will Jenna, Max and the others discover what is going on before someone else dies? This is the third book in this series, but they can be read along, some recurring characters. This is Jenna Harts story, and TBI agent Max Anderson's and there is danger and suspense coming from more than one direction. This is Christian suspense at it's best, and this author does not disappoint. Danger is ever present, but there is such a kindness for fellowman, and love of family. You wonder if those you come to care about will make it to the end, and what is triggering all of the happenings? Just when you thing it is all wrapped out, nope, there is more! Keep page turning! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.
