"Immer mehr Menschen ziehen einer individuellen Behandlung am Lebensende lebenserhaltenden Ma nahmen vor". Mit dieser Aussage startet die Autorin (selber Ergotherapeutin) in eine Pr fung der Fragen: "Was macht Lebensqualit t im Sterbeprozess aus? Welchen Beitrag kann Ergotherapie am Lebensende leisten? Wie wird die Versorgung dieser Personen in anderen L ndern geregelt? Wie k nnen Menschen in ihrem gewohnten Umfeld sterben? Und wie sieht die Umsetzung in Deutschland aus?" Mit dem palliativen Gedanken als Hintergrund soll erm glicht werden, schmerzreduziert/-frei und mit m glichst viel Selbstst ndigkeit und Individualit t den letzten Weg anzutreten. Dabei wird das Fallbeispiel einer Frau mit Hirntumor gew hlt, was aber Erfahrungen an? anderen Erkrankungen nicht ausschlie en soll. Das Buch soll einen Einblick in den Bereich der ambulanten Palliative Care-Versorgung geben, sowie Inhalte der Ergotherapie damit verkn pfen.
