Ut dicam quid mihi in hac re verum videatur, in primis assero non esse necessarium ut Ius naturae ab Ethica distinguatur. Nam commode posset utriusque argumentum ad unam eamdemque scien tiam revocari, quae Moralis aut Ius naturae, prout magis libet, appelletur. Moralis enim, ut ipsum suadet vocabulum, mores hominis informandos ao dirigendos assumit: qui certe non individuali tantum ambitu comprehenduntur, sed ad socialem etiam ordinem spectant.

Duobus ordinibus tota vita hominis prout homo est continetur et vigot; quorum alterum perspicientia veri, al terum appetitio boni suppeditat. Illa in sola rerum contem platione sistit, haec ad operationem se porrigit; illa scien tiae adeptione contenta est haec ad virtutis exercitium aspirat.
