From Powells.com

Patrick Gass (1771-1870) was one of the best known members of the Corps of Discovery (1804-06). He was the first to publish an account of the expedition for a public hungry for information. His account went into several editions and was published in France and Germany.

After the Paris edition three more U.S. versions appeared. These all had six engravings added to the text but no map. In 1812, the fourth edition appeared with the map and 6 engravings. We have a very nice copy, beautifully rebound with the map and all six plates. Sue, Powells.com
