Suzy Becker’s books include One Good Egg; All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat; I Had Brain Surgery, What’s Your Excuse?; and Books Are for Reading. Becker founded and served as president of Widget Factory (1989–1993), a greeting card company profiled by Good Morning America. She is a former White House fellow and received a Bunting Fellowship from Harvard in 1999. She helped found Ride FAR, the first U.S. HIV/AIDS bike-a-thon, and helped found and taught at Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School in Massachusetts. She lives with her family, a dog, and a formerly feral cat in central Massachusetts.

Suzy Becker is best known for her international bestseller All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat. Suzy is the author/illustrator of three other books for kids, one book for babies, and two books for grown ups. Kate the Great is her first chapter book. Suzy has also had other jobs: lemonade stand owner (age 7), greeting card company mogul (not the ski-kind), and she helped to start the Francis Parker Charter Essential School. She lives with her family in central Massachusetts.
