Penny Carlton is an emergency helicopter pilot who takes risks every day in her work, transporting patients for medical treatment in sometimes challenging conditions. FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield is chasing a serial killer…and Penny finds herself right in the middle of the manhunt. This is an action-packed, adventurous, romantic suspense read that will keep you reading well into the wee hours. Eason knows how to build a plot that is engaging. And she sprinkles thoughtful life lessons throughout her books. This one is no exception. This book is an exceptional suspense story that grabs the reader from the first page and holds them captive until the final page is turned.

Life Flight by Lynette Eason is the first book in her Extreme Measures series. Penny Carlton is an Emergency Medical Service helicopter pilot. During a raging storm she is forced to make an emergency landing on a mountain and then go for help. All the while with a serial killer on the loose. Teaming up with FBI Agent Holt Satterfield may be her only means of survival when she becomes a target. This story was a thrill ride from start to finish; with a wonderful cast of characters. Penny was such a delight to get to know. She was soft and approachable but tough as nails when she had to be. Ms. Eason’s new series is sure to be a nail-biting success! I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.

This is a pulse-racing, breath-holding suspense thriller with two strong protagonists. Penny Carlton is a helicopter pilot and EMT who has a deep attraction to FBI agent Holt Satterfield. Their attraction to each other has to be put on hold when Holt has to capture an escaped serial killer who seems to be targeting him and Penny. There are some twists and some really intense moments in the plot, so it was an absorbing book to read. I really enjoyed that the characters were totally fleshed out, including their family connections and their past mistakes. With a theme of forgiveness and family and hope for the future, this first book in a new series holds the promise for many more hours of mesmerizing entertainment and more than a few pounds of my heart. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys engaging in a life or death struggle against a wily foe.

Some days are just cry days… Perhaps we would all feel that way, if we were wearing the shoes, or flight boots, of Penny Carlton, a helicopter pilot. First you have to make an emergency landing in a raging storm, and that seems to be just the beginning of the non-stop stress she finds herself in. The author has done a fabulous job of grabbing your attention and keeping it with every breath you take trying to figure out how this can possibly end without more death. The plot or plots just keep getting more twisted as you make an effort to understand what can be believed and what one should turn tail and run from in order to survive. Do not under any circumstances expect to put this book aside until you are finished! An ARC of this first book in the Extreme Measures series was received through Baker Publishing Group and Revell. Lynette Eason’s books are one of my very favorite things and I’m always eagerly anticipating her next release! When I first learned that Life Flight would feature EMS, helicopters, and the FBI (three of my personal favorite story elements!) I think I may have squealed in excitement, and in that moment Life Flight became my most highly anticipated release of 2022! My expectations for a Lynette Eason book are always sky high, because I know what an amazing writer she is, and Life Flight not only met my expectations it exceeded them all! This book is INCREDIBLE, and not only is it one of my favorite reads of 2021, it is also one of my all time favorites by this author! I wish I could give it 10 stars! Fasten your seatbelt and prepare to take the flight of your life! You won’t be sorry you did! I seriously can’t recommend this book highly enough, it is everything I want in a romantic suspense, it’s packed with non-stop action and suspense, and I could not put it down! Yes, I know I’m gushing, but I don’t care, you’re just gonna have to deal with it, this book deserves all the praise! Life Flight absolutely and completely blew my mind, and I loved every single minute I spent reading it! I’ll say it again, I loved absolutely everything about Life Flight, and I cannot wait to read Julianna’s story when it releases! I received a complimentary copy of this book. A real page turner exciting and not over done! Wow! What a nail biter. I have long been a fan of Lynette Eason. What is special about this book is that it is completely believable and exciting but not over-the-top with unrealistic scenarios. Penny the chopper pilot is very smart and has even rescued FBI agent Holton Satterfield. They meet again when a serial killer is loose in a remote area on a mountain. Penny has to make an emergency landing and is not aware of the menace. Penny and Holt and their coworkers are likable. Some are Christians and I appreciate that the author shows their faith as natural. The villain was very creepy and some scenes were disturbing, i liked that Penny was strong and she used her brain as much as her defensive moves. “Things were clicking in her brain, little pieces of information swimming around up there, but she had no idea how to put it all together.” Well, She did it! Just in time. There were some surprises at the end including a second problem that Holt was working on. A fantastic start to a new series:Extreme Measures. What a beginning to a new series, and it sure didn't disappoint, from crash landing to gun blasts! You will never know what is around the next corner, and it a good thing you don't. Penny Carlton, EMS Helicopter pilot, is reunited with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield, and not in a way girls like to meet someone they like. Evil is lurking, and what a job the author does with this story, surprises abound, most I never saw coming. A read that tugs at your heart, makes you want to hide under the bed, and hold your breath as guns, knives flash, and all the while hoping for survival of those we come to care about. We also have a side story, and again the author kept me guessing! Now I have to wait for book two in this page turning series! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.
