Staff Pick
This is not a regular choose-your-own-adventure story. The tale is a parallel between an abusive relationship and a giant ant alien invasion. No matter which path you pick, you relive the same scenarios over and over again. What a great read for someone who has been in a codependent, abusive relationship. This is also a great lens into what it's like for someone who hasn't experienced this kind of relationship. It accurately portrays the hopelessness one may feel even though leaving has always been an option. Recommended By Rin S., Powells.com

"Love Is Not Constantly is a small masterpiece of twentysomething romantic trauma — a book with real clarity of vision that reads, at times, like a horror story." Slate.com
Review
"Love's tremendous appeal is in the tension between its clear-eyed, serious account of a difficult relationship, and its fun, nostalgic Choose Your Own Adventure aesthetic. But the book design serves a function beyond cutesiness: It is an implicit reminder that as hopeless and stuck as the narrator feels in his relationship, it's always up to him to choose whether to stay or to go. Giant mutant ants or no, it's a powerful, affecting device." Portland Mercury
