Synopses & Reviews
Sure, you can use Flash MX 2004 without being a master programmer, but as any Flash developer worth his or her salt will tell you, you're not tapping all of its power unless you're taking advantage of its scripting language "ActionScript 2.0" which offers a more robust programming model and better object-oriented programming support than ever before. Here to take the fear factor out of learning it are Flash veterans and best-selling authors Derek Franklin and Jobe Makar, who demonstrate that scripting is an instinctual process you already know by translating real-life activities into ActionScript scripts. In these pages, you'll find methodologies and techniques for building over 40 real-life Flash ActionScript projects, including sample games, --- applications, Web sites, and more. New in this edition are coverage of ActionScript 2.0, Web services, Components, Printing, Video, and more. On the companion CD, you'll find all the project files and images you need to complete each project.
Synopsis
Extend reader's Flash skills with ActionScript, Macromedia's scripting language for animation and multimedia. This is the official Macromedia training guide, based on the curricula used in Macromedia's own training centers with step-by-step, project-based lessons that show readers how to create advanced Flash applications.
Synopsis
Macromedia Flash MX ActionScripting: Advanced Training From the Source teaches readers ActionScript using a hands-on, project-based approach. This book will be different in several ways. Instead of just explaining how scripting works, explains scripting by translating real-life activities into scripts, so that users can begin to see the association of how programming and scripting is something they instinctively already know how to do. Readers will be shown many methodologies and techniques for building nearly thirty real-life Flash ActionScript projects, including sample games, wireless applications, Web sites, and more, enabling them to work faster and more efficiently. The companion CD-ROM contains all project files and images necessary for each project in the book.
Synopsis
With its high-impact design and low-bandwidth requirements, Macromedia Flash has become the industry standard for hundreds of thousands of Web developers worldwide. With the release of version 5, Flash continues to evolve past its origins as an animation tool. With its new, incredibly powerful scripting engine, as well as its ability to tie in with application servers and XML, it has become a development platform in its own right. ActionScript is the scripting language used to control animation and multimedia within Flash. Macromedia Flash ActionScripting: Advanced Training from the Source shows readers how to translate real-world applications using Flash into scripts that they can use and modify as their understanding of Flash programming expands. Users will learn many methodologies and techniques for putting Flash projects together, enabling them to work faster and more efficiently. Projects include games, wireless applications, Web interfaces, and more.
