Synopses & Reviews
The volume summarizes the state of the art in measles virus research in the area of virology, molecular biology, immunology, and prevention of associated diseases. Measles continues to be one of the leading childhood diseases in the developing world with a high morbidity and mortality. The prevention of measles worldwide requires that we better understand the molecular and biological properties of the virus, the immunologic and immune pathogenic responses to both infection and vaccination, and the epidemiology of measles in different regions of the world as a measure of the success and failure of vaccination strategies. This volume is intended to catalyze the exchange and collaboration between workers in different disciplines and facilitate the entry of newcomers to this field of resarch.
Review
"This volume is eminently readable with concise but state-of-the-art reports on measles research in areas of virology, molecular biology and immunology,...it will be an invaluable source of information for epidemiologists and those working in the measles vaccine research field." - British Journal of Biomedical Sciences
