Excerpt from Memoranda on Poisons
The law regarding poisons. - Any substance which can injure the health or destroy life is, by the law, regarded as a poison, if given with the intent to do mischief; but the law of poisoning is unsettled.
Administration OF poisons. Poisons may be introduced into the body in various ways, and in various forms. Thus, they may be administered by the mouth, rec tum, vagina, or lungs, or underneath the skin; and they may be given in the form of solids, liquids, or gases alone, or mixed with various matters.
