Mercy Thompson returns in the seventh novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Mercy Thompsons life has undergone a seismic change. Becoming the mate of Adam Hauptman—the charismatic Alpha of the local werewolf pack—has made her a stepmother to his daughter Jesse, a relationship that brings moments of blissful normalcy to Mercys life. But on the edges of humanity, what passes for a minor mishap on an ordinary day can turn into so much more…

After an accident in bumper-to-bumper traffic, Mercy and Jesse cant reach Adam—or anyone else in the pack for that matter. Theyve all been abducted.

Through their mating bond, all Mercy knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adams disappearance may be related—and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from any ally she can get, no matter how unlikely.

Synopsis

THE FIRST MERCY THOMPSON NOVEL
Moon Called is the novel that introduced Patricia Briggs s Mercy Thompson to the world and launched a #1 bestselling phenomenon...

But Mercy s two worlds are colliding. A half-starved teenage boy arrives at her shop looking for work, only to reveal that he s a newly changed werewolf on the run and desperately trying to control his animal instincts. Mercy asks her neighbor Adam Hauptman, the Alpha of the local werewolf pack, for assistance.

Briggs Does it again! She knows how to capture her audience and bring them end only to leave them wanting more! She is the only fiction writer I follow and the Thompson series is by far my favorite. Other than that I stick to non fiction.

I took the recommendation for this series a couple years ago from Jennie Breeden of the webcomic The Devil's Panties. I'm so glad I did, I've been reading and re-reading it ever since. It's such a nice blend of supernatural and real world that keeps me interested and coming back for more.

This book is about a girl named Mercy who is a skinwalker, someone who is able to change into a coyote at will. When her werewolf neighbor's daughter is kidnapped she helps his werewolf pack try to find the kidnappers. I found this book dull and slow with dreadful pacing. The writing felt awkward and rough and the characters were flat. Every now and then there was something clever or interesting but most of this book was totally boring. I will not be reading the rest of this series.

Being my first Patricia Briggs experience, I took the store employee's word that it would be good. I was not disappointed. I was hooked before I'd finished five pages: a VW mechanic named Mercedes? Werewolves, vampires, fae, and a Walker who doesn't know much about her own kind? How could I not be intrigued? Ms. Brigg's masterful use of language made Mercy's world real to me. I picked up the next two in the series before I finished the first!

I loved the idea of Mercy being a walker. I had never seen one in a story I have read before. I did have a small problem with the way she kept acting like she was still trying to learn about herself and others of the supernatural. She would second guess herself alot and the whole Adam and Samual love feud got on my nerves when anyone could tell she liked Adam more then Samual after what he did to her. But I did love that she has friends in all corners of the supernatural. She is friends with Stefan an elder vampire, Zee probaliy the oldest gremlin in the book that has knowlage of old magic, Uncle Mike with his safe bar to go to, Bran the Marrok as a father figure, Tony the human undercover cop, Adam the Alpha of the Tri-City pack with his little hellyan of a daughter Jessei, and last but not lest her faithful friend and all time roommate Media the cat. I have read Moon Called and Blood Bound and can't wait to read the other two in the series.

Mercy runs a garage in the tri- cities where she leads a good life, until a run away (for lack of a better word at the moment) werewolf comes to her. as she investigates what happened to him she gets into more trouble than she thought this job would contain. this book is amazing. creating all of my fav fantasy characters (vampyres, werewolves, shapeshifters, fae). Moon called was seriousley good, it was funny, exciting, and sad. it had me at hello and never let go. Blood bound (book 2) is just as good and i cant wait to get Iron Kissed (book 3)

Okay, so I liked the cover so much that I had to pick up the book and hope the inside would live up to the artwork. Oh my, did it ever! This is the story of a young woman/shape-shifter who is stronger than she knows and more interesting than is good for her. This book appealed to me on several levels, not the least of which is that it's set in a part of the country that I know very well. I had no trouble believing that werewolves, vampires, fae-folk and more could be living amongst us in the desert regions of Washington state. Moon Called is the first in this particular series and was a terrific introduction to an author I've become addicted to.

I was over at a friend's house and we had just gotten back from shopping when she opened the trunk. she said she needed to get something out of it so i went to the back of her car with her. i looked at the things she had in there. some junk. some new things. (an old swinsuit with flowers on it) and then i noticed this book. i was looking for something to read so i thought why not borrow this. she said sure so i took it home. now when i start a book i usually stay up untill 12:00 reading it then i try to get some sleep. so i did that. there were some iffy parts but all in all the book was fantastic. i really enjoyed it. i laughed. i cheered and got a little teary eyed too.
