Never Leave Me is the second installment from Jody Hedlund’s series, Waters of Time. I had the pleasure of reading the first book, Come Back to Me. I really enjoyed that one and could not possibly think Jody could top it. I was surprised at how wrong I was. I adored Ellen and Harrison as a duo. They made a great team together as they try to solve the mystery. This is one of those books that are not easily predictable and made me to keep reading until I was finished. I had no problem reading the whole book in one sitting. I am giving Never Leave Me a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean historical romance that includes mystery. I can not wait to get my hands on the third book from the Waters of Time series. I received a paperback copy of Never Leave Me from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Are you ready for a trip to the past? Author Jody Hedlund sweeps us along on another time-travel adventure that satisfies romance lovers and teases other readers with "What if?" Never Leave Me continues the saga of the search for the holy water, and it's the perfect follow-up for Come Back to Me, the first book in the Waters of Time series. Hedlund has an amazing talent for suggesting intense romantic chemistry but never showing overly explicit details, and she also weaves thought-provoking faith messages into her plots. If you are looking for heartwarming romance and riveting adventure, you need to read Never Leave Me. You will not be disappointed! This book was provided courtesy of the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

I didn't remember immediately that I had read the first of this series, till a bit later. Then the character, Marian, came rushing back to my memory. The book was quite thought provoking as one wonders who would or should receive the healing water? This is a time-slip book and goes between Middle Ages to current and leaves you feeling you have to keep on reading. There's no stopping now! The hunt for the Tree of Life and the healing waters makes for a very intriguing story line. It doesn't fail! This book has some really exciting adventure, danger and romance for sure! The book is breathtaking and that says it all! ' The lead characters are Ellen and Harrison. Each has serious health issues to deal through. This book, in my opinion, had so much to offer. Really enjoyed the action and the events till the very end. I received a copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

Oh. Wow. Now, I am not typically a big contemporary fiction fan (although, yes, this was a time travel novel, so it did also include historical portions), but I even enjoyed the modern day areas of this story SOOOO much! In fact, there was a greater part of the book that took place within the present timeframe than did in the past, unlike the first book in the series, Come Back to Me. And yet I still ADORED this one! Author Jody Hedlund is certainly going to stay on my radar for any future time travel books she may release! She handles it INCREDIBLY well! I have loved both of the books in her Waters of Time series so far and am expectantly looking forward to whatever she may have coming our way next!

What a great sequel in the Waters of Time series. I definitely recommend you read the series in order since the first book (Come Back to Me) puts down the groundwork for what happens in this book. It’s a bit different from the first in that friends-to-more romance plot line takes center stage here as Harrison desperately tries to find a cure for Ellen’s genetic disorder. I loved Harrison and Ellen’s sweet, tender, self-sacrificing love and being back in 1382 with Will and Marian. Harrison’s devoted, steadfast heart and his keen intelligence makes him a uniquely unforgettable hero and Ellen’s compassionate bleeding soul makes her a worthy heroine. If you’re looking for a time-traveling adventure with heart-stopping romance and lots of action, look no further! I received the book from publisher via Interviews and Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Sweet romance with some sizzle underneath the surface. It also includes time travel to Medieval times, so if the 14th century is your cup of tea, then this book is for you. Since I had not read the first book, I felt like I was missing parts of the story at first, but I quickly caught on and enjoyed the plot that involved healing waters and villains willing to do anything to get their hands on it. I wasn’t too impressed with the love between Ellen and Harrison because he did not come out as a strong, swashbuckling hero. But, steady as he goes worked okay with Ellen as the main character who has to come to terms with her own weaknesses and move forward toward the future. This was a different kind of book for me because I felt like it mixed Christian faith with fantasy, sci-if and romance, all in a plot that worked well together. The characters were fleshed out well, but Harrison was still not my favorite hero because he was somewhat indecisive at times. What enticed me to read was the synopsis and what kept me reading was the realistic struggle with faith that the main characters had. This was presented in a way that did not at all distract from the main plot of a healing water cure for all diseases and Ellen’s quest to find and save it for herself and others who need it. The themes of unselfishness, sacrifice and God’s intervention were all welcome additions to the story.

What an incredible follow up to Come Back to Me. We now encounter Ellen Creighton as she is ravaged with a rare disease and cancer. Her trusted friend, wheelchair bound Harrison Burlington, a wealthy nobleman, has tried to make her last days as comfortable as possible while trying to keep his love for her a secret. After a miraculous recovery for both of them, they are still searching for the source of the holy water and the whereabouts of Ellen’s sister and father. But evil thwarts their plans and puts everyone in danger. They ponder if they are worthy caretakers of this secret. “In their quest for the holy water, had they unearthed something God had not wanted them to disturb? While healing and health were incredible gifts, was healing always the best course, or did the suffering and hardship that came with disease serve a purpose, too.” Lots of intrigue in this well written time travel tale. The main characters shine with their selflessness. Harrison is the best kind of hero. He is kind, thoughtful and has integrity. And Ellen has some self realization as she grows closer to Harrison: “Courage. Instead of always giving up or running away in fear, maybe it was time to pray that she could face the uncertainty of the future with courage.” Suspend belief and enjoy this captivating book! *A complimentary copy of this book was provided by Revell through Interviews and Reviews. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own. *

In this second book in the Water of Time series, I was once again captured by the thought and wonder of whether or not there really is such a thing as “Holy Water.” Could it really heal someone or give you the power to travel back in time? The author of this story takes us on a ride like you won’t believe. With characters who are so real and yet, events so beyond our imagination. I’m so glad the author brought this story right back to the first one and connected it in a seamless way. My heart went out to the struggles both Harrison and Ellen dealt with regarding their own illnesses. I loved the tension and care they each had for the other. It was so powerful yet, they themselves couldn’t see their love. This book had drama, suspense, action, medieval elegance and hardship, and sweet romance that will knock your socks off. Oh, the Romance!! Jody Hedlund’s books are colorful, exciting, easy to read, and full of wonderful images. The dialogue flows so smoothly. I was truly caught up in the story and didn’t want it to end. It took me to the 1300s with so many wonderful images and splendid verbiage. I loved everything about this book! I highly recommend you pick this book up and enjoy all the pageantry and sweet romance of this magical book! I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

How appropriate is the title of this book, and the more you turn the pages you realize how true it is. Now I have read the first book in this series, and loved it, and this one did not disappoint. Made think that we all would be willing to try and get access to this holy water, especially for someone we love. This is a time travel Christian story, and the author did a great job of bringing us to the 1300's, and we sure do take a lot for granted! Right to the end of this read the story kept on giving, and caring! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

I read the first in the series and had mixed feeling but I enjoyed it enough to request the second through LibraryThing. I was given an advanced reader copy so I cannot comment on the editing other than it was quite good even as an ARC. I still don't agree that this should be considered a Christian book and I know that those are the books Revell publishes. This just doesn't line up with my beliefs, but with that aside, as a fiction novel, it is a very interesting story. The characters are well developed and they are believable, just the storyline is not. But, it's a great fiction story not meant to be believable. This is the second book and is mostly centered around Ellen, the younger sister. The first book centered around Marian. I am looking forward to the third book which I'm guessing will center around their dad. If you like good, clean fiction you will enjoy this book. Time travel is the main theme. I do recommend this as fiction but not as Christian fiction. I give it a 4 out of 5-star rating.
