I love retellings of old fairy tales and this one does not disappoint. It's based off of an old Scottish fairy tale with the same name. There is a feisty female protagonist, lots of magic, and an obscure prophesy that makes things difficult for everyone involved. The characters are diverse with people of color, a nonbinary character, and even one with prosthetics. The artwork is lovely and I loved reading it. Can't wait for volume two.
