Rayaba Elena en los doce Febreros cuando la conocio Gil Gil; y, como en aquella casa pa saba el joven paje por hijo de una muy noble familia arruinada, - piadoso embuste del Con de de Rionuevo, - la aristocratica nina no se desdeno de jugar con el a las cosas que juegan los muchachos, llegando hasta darle, por su puesto en broma, el dictado de novio, y aun a cobrarle algun carino, cuando los doce anos de ella se convirtieron en catorce y los catorce de el en diez y seis.
