About the Author
Joel C. Epstein is the former Director of Special Projects and Senior Attorney for the U .S. Department of Education' s Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention. He is currently a senior associate in the Health and Human Development Programs division at Education Development Center in Newton, Massachusetts. A frequent speaker and media commentator on student life and college parent issues, Joel also consults to colleges, schools, Greek organizations, and attorneys on policy and legal compliance, student safety , risk management, and media relations. Joel's prior writing has considered topics ranging from the law of student safety to residential crime prevention, criminal prosecution, and environmental protection. A graduate of the University of Michigan and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.Joel lives in the Boston area with his wife and three children.
