Synopses & Reviews
Todays students have sensibilities and needs that are very different from those of even ten years ago. Visual and auditory media have changed dramatically in recent years; most textbooks have not kept pace with these changes. Student purchasing habits have also changed dramatically.
Portafolio addresses these changes by offering students a visually and aurally innovative and exciting introductory Spanish program, one that also offers new purchasing options. The design of Portafolio is colorful, lively and easy-to-navigate; the program includes an array of video, audio and print components, integrated with the textbook in a variety of ways to address individual learning styles; and the program is available in an innovative two-volume soft-cover format, which allows students to purchase only the portion they are using in the current semester.
These exciting new features and purchasing options are designed to address the needs of the students in your classroom today!
Portafolio-to-Go is a special link on the Portafolio Online Learning Center http://www.mhhe.com/portafolio that houses downloadable digital assets. Students are able to easily access and download to their mp3 player key resources that support the Portafolio program.

Portafolio: lo último en español is a new kind of teaching and learning program: a dynamic introductory Spanish experience that brings together a magazine-like core text with student-friendly digital assets, including downloadable audio and video files(www.mhhe.com/portafolio). It offers the guidance that beginning Spanish students and new instructors need, as well as the flexibility that all students and instructors want. Created in response to student and instructor feedback on the importance of visual appeal, brevity, portability, and function in the printed textbook and digital materials,
Portafolio is the first introductory Spanish program of its kind.
In addition, language students--particularly beginners--bring to the classroom a genuine desire to learn, even if they simply are fulfilling a requirement. Whether or not they express it in this way, students want their instructor to subscribe to a methodology that is informed by the latest research in second language acquisition. They want activities that have been class-tested and proven effective. They want to develop basic communication skills in Spanish. And they want to learn about the diversity of Hispanic cultures. Portafolio delivers on all of these objectives--and more.
