Excerpt from Sixth Annual Report of the Secretary of the State Pomological Society of Michigan: 1876
Sir, - Section six of an act to provide for the incorporation of societies for the promotion of pomology, horticulture, and the kindred sciences and arts, in the State of Michigan, approved April 15, 1871, provides that it shall be the duty of the Secretary of said State society to make and transmit to the Secre tary of State a report of the transactions of said society, including copies of papers read at its meetings, reports of exhibitions held, and of facts collected by correspondence or otherwise, at the end of the month of December of each year, said report to be printed in similar form and number of copies as the re ports and transactions of the State Board of Agriculture and State Agricult ural Society, under the direction of the Secretary of State.
