The author of this volume has a deliberate and very earnest purpose in view. He regards skepticism, with all allied forms of philosophical thought and method such as eclecticism, as likely to claim a far greater sphere of energy in the future than it has in the past. This, too, is in the domain not of theology only, but of philosophy
