This report provides the most up to date information and data on food irradiation dosimetry available. It aims to ensure the compliance of trade in irradiated food with national and international standards, i.e. the Codex General Standard for Irradiated Foods and its associated Code of Practice for Operation of Irradiation Facilities used for Treatment of Food, issued by the Codex Alimentarius Commission of the FAO/WHO Food Standard Programme in 1984. It also supplements and updates Technical Reports Series No. 178, Manual of Food Irradiation Dosimetry (1977).
