This handbook is a collection of 24 essays on a variety of public policy topics, e.g., Civil Liberties, Education, Poverty, Welfare, etc. Each essay identifies the issue, provides background information, and presents opposing opinions. Bibliographies of `Recommended Reading' guide readers to further information. Most list fairly recent books. Each essay is quite readable, and cross-references are provided. Membership organizations concerned with the issue at hand are listed at the end of each essay. A Tabular Appendix contains 24 tables of socio-economic statistics. The Index is detailed.
