Jinwoo Chong: Clock In: Jinwoo Chong’s Playlist for 'Flux' (0 comment)
I had my first inklings of the novel that eventually became Flux about a year after I was laid off from my first job after college, the result of a corporate takeover of my company that eliminated my entire department. While a tough hurdle to overcome at twenty-one years old, I learned a lot about self-sufficiency....

Tombs of Atuan takes you on a different journey than you expect to go on, or rather, someone else's journey. You follow Tenar as she gives away her name to the darkness and later discovers her true self and her true name along with the secrets of the tombs and her home. She eventually crosses paths with our favorite wizard, and the story continues. I highly recommend this continuation of the Earthsea series. The lore only gets richer and better from here. Even though I really didn't like the first Earthsea book, I'm so glad I decided to read this second one. I found this setting of mysterious priestesses belonging to an ancient order to be much more intriguing than the barrage of countless islands in the first book. I also felt the "eaten one" to be a much more interesting character, full of depth, as compared to the mostly one-dimensional angry Ged of book one. The wait to see how this new storyline connected with the first also kept me interested. Worth checking out!
