Bethanne has found life hard after an attempted assault. She lives with the memory and it fills her mind. Her cousin is running for Miss Crittenden County and has a stalker. Its an amazing Amish suspense that keeps you reading because you have to find out who the culprit is. The characters are great and the storyline is very realistic. It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. And of course there is romance and so it has all the good stuff! Well recommended! I received an ARC copy of this book. Shelley Shepard Gray has been one of my go to authors, when it comes to Amish Romance for years. I was excited to find out that she had a new release, Unforgotten, and was determined to get my hands on it. I was far from being disappointed. This story was full of suspense, mystery, action, and faith. I love how the theme shows the power of forgiveness and having second chances. There were a few twists and turns that I did not see coming. I thought it was great. I am giving Unforgotten five stars. I believe readers who love to read clean Amish Romantic fiction with a suspenseful twist will definitely want to read this one. I would love to read more books from the talented Shelley Shepard Gray in the near future. This book is a perfect blend of suspense, romance, and faith with a well-paced well-structured plot and wonderfully created, compelling characters. Set in Crittenden County, Kentucky, the multi-layered plot features two storylines with two sweet love stories that merge expertly and satisfyingly. The story features cousins Bethanne Hostetler, an Amish book reviewer, and Candace Evans an Englisher beauty queen. Bethanne struggles to make peace with her past and move on with her life. Candace’s life is being upended and threatened by a stalker. Sweet romance walks alongside emotion-packed, pulse-pounding danger and suspense as their captivating story unfolds. Faith themes of forgiveness, trust, and reliance on God to overcome fear are inspiring. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and highly recommend it especially for fans of Amish fiction and/or romantic suspense. Note: Although there are carryover characters from a previous book, sufficient background information is provided to make this book work as a standalone. This book tells the story of two cousins who are dealing with relationship issues. Bethanne has a fear of being around people, and she is just coming out of her shell after an assault by her former boyfriend. She is still not totally comfortable in public, but she is getting better. Her cousin Candace competed for and won the Miss Crittenden County Contest. But Candace’s issue is that she has a stalker, so a new deputy named Ryan Milanese appoints himself to be her chaperone and body guard to all of her events. The two cousins are making progress with trusting others when the unthinkable happens. This is an Amish romance with a lot of suspense included in the story. The suspense is compelling and the characters are realistically portrayed and very easy to empathize with. I enjoyed the pace of the story, which I considered moderate until the big conflict. This read quickly became a page turner, and often with your heart in your throat, Christian Suspense at its best. This book is really not a sequel but does continue on from Unforgiven, which gives answers for the trauma Bethanne Hostetler underwent. This is also Bethanne's cousin Candace's story, both have fellows that really seem to like them, but will they be able to move on from the evil things that happen? I loved how the families got along in this read, Bethanne is Amish and Candance is English, their Mom's are sisters. We are offered some really scary events here, and deal with some tough subjects, such as rape and stalking, and the author does a great job handling these. I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

Although easily read as a standalone, 'Unforgotten' follows on the heels of 'Unforgiven'—continuing the painful issues of past protagonists and also acquainting us with an entire cast of new characters to root for. Bethanne's fears from a past assault come rushing back when her beautiful non-Amish cousin, Candace, attracts a menacing stalker after winning the title of Miss Crittenden County. Both are sweet, innocent, and humble . . . undeserving of the blows life has brought them. Ms. Gray pens amazingly courageous, strong, realistic characters the reader can totally identify with—who fight to overcome fear, anxiety, and learning to trust again in the face of pain.
