My assessment of the book is that it is an important book to read. The reason it is so important to read is because the topic on global warming affects all living organisms on the earth. And the reason the earth is warming is because of humans. In my opinion Barnes solution in his book is a simple yet creative way to solve the excess carbon that is being released into the atmosphere. I believe that the real difficulty of getting the sky trust to work is getting it approved by the government. Even though the government would not own any of the sky trust, it would still need to approve of the sky trust. Still today over ten years after the book has been written no politician has not come forward to really be an advocate for the sky trust. The reason for people not supporting a way to limit the amount of carbon emissions being released into the sky is that America still may not me ready for a way to limit the amount of carbon emissions. This may be because many people are not educated about the topic of global warming and what it is actually doing to the earth. They may also not be aware of the consequences of what could latter happen within their lifetime. I feel if more people read this book then they would understand something needs to be done to limit the amount of carbon being released into the atmosphere. And the sky zone may be the perfect solution. Overall I believe that Peter Barnes the sky trust is an excellent idea. It offers many benefits. It is the simplest, most efficient and fairest way to reduce carbon emissions. The fact that it is already based on the Alaska Permanent fund which has already proven itself to work and is well like by most citizen, shows that the sky trust could very well work. To get a full understanding of the sky trust though you need to read the book. I have only touched on some of the main details. If you want to get a full understanding and really see how much it would benefit everyone the lives on the earth then you must read this book. The earth cannot continue to warm at the rate it is. There is too many consequences that will happen if this continues. I believe if everyone would read Barnes book Who Owns the Sky we would all understand and see how effective his sky trust would be at fixing this problem.
