We're filled with grief, rage, and horror at the escalating anti-Asian sentiment and hate crimes being perpetrated in this country. This is not a new phenomenon, and we continue to grapple with the ways racial identity has been weaponized throughout U.S. history.
We've collected some immediate resources to learn more about the specifics of what's happening today, and to find ways to help current victims of these hate crimes. We've also collected a small sampling of books by and about Asian Americans — nonfiction histories that dig into how Asian American identity was created, and specific chapters of U.S. history; fiction titles that explore the experience of being Asian American in this country; and books that celebrate Asian American joy.
