National Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15. This unique mid-month start date for the month, also referred to as Latinx Heritage Month, coincides with the independence day of several countries in Latin America, as well as Mexico and Chile. The observance gives us an opportunity to celebrate this vibrant community whose ancestors came to our country from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
To honor their histories and their cultural contributions, we’ve pulled together book recommendations and bookseller displays, as well as playlists and essays, from Hispanic and Latinx authors.
Read, explore, and enjoy these lists — no matter the time of year.
