The long-awaited new issue of Bunnyhop is a cause for celebration. Packed with articles on everything from lesser-known bands (The Champs, Momus, Les Rythmes Digitales) and experimental record reviews (cut-up like a William Burroughs text) to a survey on faked moments and an article on sex dolls. Many of the highlights come from the art and layout of the magazine, featuring visual treats from Portlanders Bwana Spoons and Martin Ontiveros (a glorious centerfold!) as well as an interview with author and illustrator J. Otto Seibold (creator of the hip kids book Mr. Lunch and much more). Editor Noel Tolentino always picks a diverse and strange brew of subjects (sex dolls, an essay on The Onion's popularity) into his mag and the writing displays a sharp and delightfully snippy humor. A shining example is the Chicken Soup For the Soul parody, Turkey Soup For Jerks. Even the ads are cool! It's so nice to have this magazine up and hopping again.
