Rule's Bride is the third in Kat Martin's Bride Trilogy, a fun romp through Victorian England with three brothers bound to marry but bargaining in each case for more than they counted on. Rule Dewar, the third and youngest brother, agrees to a marriage of "convenience" to his American boss's 16-year-old daughter, Violet. Her father is dying and wants her future secure. After the wedding, Rule returns to England to run the company's interests there, expecting to return for his bride and consummate the marriage at some point in the future. After waiting three years for her "husband" to retrieve her and take her back to England, Violet discovers herself in love with someone else and heads off to England to pursue an annulment. The resultant conflict between a headstrong woman, used to running her father's business in America, and Rule's idea of what his wife should be is a real treat and worthy of Martin's pen.
