Today we address reasons five and six of the gardening averse.
Reason 5. "I hate the weeding and the work. I can't get any help. It's just not worth it!"
Many times the people who are overwhelmed by the amount of work in a garden have planted too much area. Scale it back and start small... if you really love gardening, you can always add!
Reason 6. "It's too late in the season to get started."
Gardening can be started any time of the year. Winter is a great time for planning your garden and building your square foot gardening boxes. Spring is great for warming up your soil and planting the first crop under a plastic cover. Summer for all those warm weather vegetables like tomatoes, peppers and squash. Fall for another cool weather crop and cleaning up the garden for next spring. That's at least three crops per year!
