A cup of tea, warm in your reading nook
Mark your page before you doze

Everybody knows a novel or a bit of prose
Help to make the season bright
All of us, with these stories we chose
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

We know a plot twist’s coming soon
Red herrings and meet-cutes make us swoon
Every reader’s heart is now alight
A night of reading, next to a fire, warm and bright

And so we’re offering this simple phrase
To readers from one to ninety-two
Although it’s been said many times, many ways

Since I am stuck on the other side of the Coast Range, I am trending toward Scrouge. Five of your lines are pretty much straight from the song written by Mel Tormé and Bob Wells in 1944, and most notably sung by Nat King Cole, which I am listening to. You cannot outdo or improve on Cole's cover of that song. It cheered me right up. So stay warm, stay safe, I wish you a happy holiday, and may 2023 be good!
