I started reading Focusing in the 1980's and carried it around with me for what felt like years, using it when I felt stuck or bad or confused. Now, in 2023 I have rediscovered it on my bookshelf.
This is a deceptively simple exercise in self consciousness and self healing but it goes to the core of where our perceived problems lie. Which is in the body/mind not just the mind. It is simple once you 'get the feel' for it. This book carefully and clearly leads one through the process of finding the body feeling and connecting it to words, images and a surprising process of discovery and disentanglement.
I highly recommend this book for anyone, actually. Those who think too much. Those who are overwhelmed by feelings. Those of us who feel like we are somehow missing the point.
