Entertaining, captivating and a little spooky, each of these tales features an 'East meets West' twist, and are sure to be appreciated by fans of historical fiction, short fiction, or ghost stories for grown-ups.

European Culture Area A Systematic Geography
by
Terr Jordan Bychkov
Ashley Mitchell
, July 02, 2007
This book is the perfect companion for anyone taking a geography class or just looking to expand their knowledge of some basic things that make Europe the distinct culture area that it is,as well as where cultural and religious divides occur within this area and what has contributed to these internal rifts.Helpful pictures and maps are found throughout the book as it covers a multitude of relevant topics from geopolitics to economics,as well as geolinguistics, history, and statistical information among other things for different regions.I decided to hold on to my copy of this even after the class I needed it for ended;a very practical book, detailed and informative, and reading it is sure to give one that 'worldly, informed' feeling.

Ramona Quimby, Age 8 (Ramona #6)
by
Beverly Cleary
Ashley Mitchell
, July 02, 2007
I read this book countless times when I was a young girl in elementary school, and still treasure my original paperback copy. There is something in Ramona that I think a girl can identify with, especially any girl with any siblings. This is a timeless treasure written by one of Portland,Oregon's most prolific and celebrated authors,Beverly Cleary;this book is a more intimate glance inside the life of one of her more popular reoccurring characters,a schoolgirl named Ramona.I hope many generations to come continue to get to know Ramona, her sister Beezus, and their adventures that will hopefully be a wonderful part of their world as a child or as someone staying in touch with an inner child.

Scheisse!: The Real German You Were Never Taught in School
by
Gertrude Besserwisser
Ashley Mitchell
, June 23, 2007
I haven't had a chance to use any of the phrases in this book in practical situations but I feel like I have all the bases covered for when the day comes after being given this book as a gift. Included are slang phrases, unusual questions, insults, comments, come-ons, quips and retorts, along with helpful chapter introductions that should be good for anyone wanting to really expand their vocabulary or just to know a few things as a beginning German language student or traveler wanting a good handbook/alternative dictionary.

Florida Fabulous Mammals
by
Publications World and Jerry Gingerich
Ashley Mitchell
, June 23, 2007
The pictures in this book are of wonderful quality; very vivid colors, great detail, and they have accompanying descriptions that are very helpful in getting to know more about all of the fascinating mammals that live in the beautiful southern state of Florida. It will have you wanting to take a vacation or just the time to escape to the wild to get a glimpse of some of these animals in their natural habitat.. the variety of species that can exist just in one state is amazing and inspiring.

The Return of the King: Lord of the Rings 3
by
J R R Tolkien
Ashley Mitchell
, June 23, 2007
I found this third and concluding volume of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy to be full of rotating plots that converge beautifully, and insights on decisions and relations among characters that you are missing out on if you have only seen the film version of this story. As usual, Tolkien's descriptions and maps of places in Middle Earth made me able to picture where I was reading about and it was easy to feel as if I was in the middle of things.

Letters For Emily
by
Camron Steve Wright
Ashley Mitchell
, June 23, 2007
I found this story to contain a lot of unexpected revelations, and a lot of wisdom like only a grandfather could dispense. A wonderful story that explores relationships within a family on the verge of being torn apart by internal conflict, and perfect for almost any age group, it is just the right blend of suspence, strong emotion, romance, mystery, sadness, and hope.
