Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. I enjoyed The Dawn of Christmas. A nice quick read (I read it all last night). Wonder characters. I felt what they felt. Cindy Woodsmall wrote a wonderful story! 4 1/2 stars I received this book for free from Blogging for Books for this review

Beast Within
by

I enjoyed The Beast Within. Redeeming the Wizard by Jennifer Lyon is my favorite of the three stories. I feel in love with Mira and Gage. I love their relationship. I even liked the bad guy and hope he gets his own story. The Howling by Erin McCarthy left me wondering if I had missed an earlier book about Liv and Sebastian. I felt that most of their romance had already taken place. I would have enjoyed seeing them fall in love. But still a good story. I liked Smoke on the Water as well. Which surprised me because I don't like zombies. I even found myself routing for one of them just a little bit!) The relationship between John and Donna could have come out of real life. I would read more zombies books by Bianca D'Arc

I made the shower curtain out of Embroidery Embellishments By Machine. It's a very easy pattern with pictures of every step. Very nice book.

31 Days of Power: Learning to Live in Spiritual Victory
by
Ruth Myers and Warren Myers
greenwolf
, July 06, 2011
I enjoyed Thirty-One Days of Power: Learning to Live in Spiritual Victory by Ruth Myers with Ruth Myers. I really like that after each days reading, there is a section to add your own thoughts. The first section of the book is full of scripture that you are to take 31 days to read. The second section of the book is aimed at giving you power beyond the 31 days. I admit it did take take me more than 31 days to read it. I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

It was okay. It could have easily been 100 pages shorter without leaving anything out.

Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball
by
Donita K Paul
greenwolf
, December 09, 2010
Cora and Simon work together everyday but not until meeting in a bookshop do they begin to really see each other. When they find tickets to a magical Christmas ball in their books will love bring them together? I really enjoyed Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball by Donita K. Paul. I didn't find it overly preachy. My real problem with it was the romance. Cora and Simon's romance seems to revolve more around his sister than each other. But she's very likable so I overlooked it. It's a fun fast read. Favorite quote: "Maybe we can invent the monkey trot." I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

It's Your Room: a Decorating Guide for Real Kids offers a nice overview of decorating your bedroom. Written and illustrated for kids it seems seems more aimed at teens who have a lot of freedom to do what they want.

I really enjoyed "From Zero to Mastectomy". Jackie Fox tells her story with breast cancer without it sounding like a textbook. My favorite quote of the book "It feels boobish." I received an autographed copy through Library Thing Member Giveaways.

Blackedmailed is very good. I auctually enjoyed the story between Brianna, Cole, and Tyler more than the love scenes (which are well done). I feel in love with the characters and hope Brianna's brother gets his own story soon.
