Coast Of Chicago
by

Dybek's poetic prose is just phenomenal. That he is not better known is something of a crime. There are some great little Flash pieces here, on top of the longer (short) stories. If you love a well-crafted sentence, you'll love Dybek. If you're a Chicago lover, you'll really love this book.

Sudden Fiction

This was a fantastic introduction to the world of Flash Fiction (aka Sudden Fiction, Micros, Blasters, etc.) Now that I write a lot of flash, I particularly appreciate the afterwords which lend neat insights into this form of fiction. If you're a reader who "never gets to read" this is a great anthology to pick up. Just read Raymond Carver's "Popular Mechanics" and tell me that these little morsels don't pack a punch! Be warned: you just might get hooked!
