Essential. This book puts it all right on the table. No punches are pulled. A long overdue book on a long overlooked topic. Pick it up!

If you have an interest in the people who made 'jazz' music, then you should read this book. This book is by the people that were in the scene and therefore provides an insight into their world in a way that nothing else did at the time.
