Book two in this series more than lives up the first one... The action is just as intense...the story is just as unexpected...and the characters are developing in more interesting ways.... Gritty.... Spellbinding.... Captivating.... Dangerously entertaining.... Keep you all night..... I think that about sums up my reaction to the second book in this series.

Nora Roberts delivers again! I don't know how she does it but she keeps the suspense and tension humming throughout this book. If you're a Nora fan, this is differently one to add to your book shelves.

A truly engaging book and a new kick butt heroine...The author has created a fun, new voice in this genre. I'll keep reading this series if the author keeps each book as intriguing as this one.....

Women Of Brewster Place

This book broke my heart but also gave me hope. Naylor is one of the best writers out there...don't let the crappy TV movie put you off. This book is SO much more.

Harlequin Anita Blake 15

This series has gone from one of the best to a way for the author to work out her kinky fantasies...the basic plot line is an interesting one but the ongoing freaky side line takes away from it....I think I've finally reached my limit and I can't continue......

Taste of Night The Second Sign of the Zodiac

I found this a bit more convoluted than the first book...It was still entertaining but not as good as the original... Hey, but that's just my opinion....and it left me less than anxious to check out the next book in the series.

Nothing To Lose

This is the worse of the series. I have been a Jack Reacher from the beginning but this book was such a let down for me. I normally can read a Reacher novel in 2 days ...but this took me a week...I was determined to finish it. I can't recommend this book but I do recommend this series.

It's character with an interesting history that has allowed her to cast herself into this "fringe of society" role makes for interesting reading. I am looking forward to reading more about this character.

I hope this character lives a very long literary life. I live in Atlanta - so, this alternate view of the city was truly fascinating and very, very believable. The story will keep you "plugged in" and vibrating to its end. Don't miss this author! She is truly one of the best.

Uhmmmm.....wow. You can never predict where this story will take you. It is truly one of the most inventively plotted and narrated books I've read to date. The Butcher's boy will leave you wanting to more...so, definitely check Sleeping Dogs.

Vanishing Act
by
Thomas Perry
binalyn
, August 16, 2008
Thomas Perry is the master of creating suspense and intrigue with unexpected plot twists and turns. Can you tell I enjoyed this book? The history that he's interwoven within the story line can be tiresome but it doesn't detract from the tale. It helps you under who Jane is and why she does what she does. All I can is....reading this book will make you a Thomas Perry fan for life.

Good read. If you're reading the serious, this may be a bit of a let down. But don't give up, keep going and the ending is an interesting one.

Simply put...I enjoyed this book. The last reviewer really had some issues with this book. I didn't take it that seriously. It's escapism..and that's what I wanted. I'd recommend it.

Surprisingly entertaining read: If you want something that will hold your interest and tweak your libido, consider this book. No, it's not an intellectual read...but it does what its designed to do...take you to another world for the time it takes to finish the book.

Mama Day
by
Gloria Naylor

If you've never ventured in the written landscrapes created by Naylor, then you life must be lackluster. Naylor has the ability to describe a scene so completely that you can smell those smells and feel the summer breezes blowing by. This book is no exception. DO NOT let the opening stop you from delving into this book. Skip that...then comeback when you've finished the book. It will make more sense.

Yet another wonderfully written book in this series. Anita Blake rocks! This book will give the first glimpse into just how powerful she is...as well as how willing she is to do the wrong thing for the right reason...

Wow..this book was a real disappointment. It didn't really serve any purpose that I can identify in moving the series forward. Buy this book ONLY if you're trying to complete the series. Otherwise, you will be disappointed.
