The best book I read in a long time. A testament to the perservering soul, and furthur more a written witness to the cruelty of being a person of color in a country which still resfuses to have an honest, indepth, and healing conversation of race and racism. Recomended read: Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome, by author Joy Degruy

A chance to understand the trials and tribulations of inner city youth, utilizing one of the best books to articulate the struggles of the first generations of African Americans. And the connection to todays lost youth of the inner ghetto's of America. Though this book may have some questionable methadologies of attacking the illnes of black on black violence, it is good starting point and base for those who are not use to dealing directly with African American youth.
