Cutting for Stone

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is a perfect background for the unique story of orphaned twins, raised by two doctors who work at the 'Missing' Hospital. The twins' lives unfold as told by several of the characters and Abraham Verghese's descriptions of these people and their surroundings are very beautifully written. A wonderful read!

Three Cups of Tea One Mans Mission to Promote Peace One School at a Time
by
Mortenson, Greg and Relin, David Oliver

This book is not only well-written,fast-moving and interesting, but most of all, it's inspirational. Never let it be said that one person cannot make a difference. Greg Mortenson in "Three Cups of Tea" clearly shows how much difference someone can - and continues to - make to hundreds of girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan. I don't often re-read books, but this is one I definitely will be reading again.
